The Practice Business Consultancy (Pty) Ltd is a business, franchise and strategy consultancy, which was established in 2003 and which serves as a platform for professionals in the legal, accounting, marketing and business fields to apply their respective skills in providing the necessary expertise to start-up, buy, sell, improve or franchise businesses, with special emphasis on business format franchising.

This platform is built on strategic partnerships which enable the firm to provide the best services efficiently and economically. Since 2004, The Practice has been a member of the Franchise Association of Southern Africa (FASA) and as such subscribes to its Code of Ethics and other guidelines.


Louis Mienie
(Chief Executive Officer)

Louis matriculated from Pietersburg High School and after military training studied law at the University of Potchefstroom. He also obtained a degree in Political Science, majoring in International Politics and Philosophy. He joined the Unifurn Group, a full subsidiary of Trust Bank, where he became the General Manager of some 100 retail stores. In 1984 he started his own interior decorating business, which he successfully managed until he ventured into the corporate market where he was involved in the listing of various companies. He was appointed as director of the Sentinel Group in 1996 where he headed the business consulting division, after which he branched out to establish The Practice Business Consultancy (Pty) Ltd in 2003 and of which he is currently the Chief Executive Officer. Louis resides in Pretoria, Gauteng.


Dr Jos Chadinha

Dr Jos Chadinha completed the degrees BA (1979) BA Hons (1980) and MA (1983) at the University of the Free State and obtained his D Phil at the same University in 1989.

He was the Chief HR Director for the Central University of Technology and before that the Senior Director: Centre for Organisational Development and the Skills Development Facilitator.  This Centre was been established to serve as the catalyst to create change in the University. 

Jos took responsibility for the entire HR discipline, with special emphasis on Labour Relations, Organisational Design and Human Resources Development strategy of the University. He is a qualified ETDP Trainer as prescribed by the ETDP Seta, and a constituent Assessor and Moderator as prescribed by SAQA for the SABPP.

He has been registered with the SABPP as a Master HR Practitioner in the category Generalist since 2002 and as a Master HR Practitioner in the category Education Training and HG Development since 2003.

Jos serves on the ETQA and Education Committees of the South African Board for Personnel Practice He is also a Senior Mentor for the Board in the Free State Region, an HR Assessor and HR Moderator.

Dr Chadinha has vast practical and theoretical experience in Human Resources, General Management, Industrial Relations (with the inclusion of the CCMA), Training and Development, Organisational Design and Organisational Efficiency studies, and has worked in the national-, local government, mining industry and private sector and Higher Education.

He was member of the National Housing Board for the House of Representatives.  He holds membership with various professional associations such as IPM, IMPP, IMASA and ILGM.  He is a past member of the Board of the IMPP and past Chairperson of the Free State Region for IMPP. 

He is a member of the Higher Education Staff Development Initiative HESDI and Chair the Regional Project Committee for Generic Staff Development.

Jos went into private practice in 2001. He is a shareholder - and was appointed as a Director of The Practice Central Business Consultancy in 2011. He is also a shareholder and Director of various other companies.
